Introduction to Language and Literature Syllabus

According to Cambridge Curriculum, there are two Papers included for AS Level:

Paper 1: Writing

This paper is divided into two parts: Part A (shorter writing and reflective commentary) and Part B (longer writing). Each section carries 25 points.

Cambridge International AS & A Level English Language (9093) Syllabus includes Paper 1 Writing which is an important component of the syllabus. This paper focuses on developing the student’s writing skills and requires them to write in different text types such as Essays, Articles, Reports, Reviews, and proposals. The paper aims to enhance the student’s ability to communicate effectively, use language accurately, and structure their writing cohesively.

The paper is divided into two sections, the first section consists of short answer questions that require the student to identify and analyze writing conventions, techniques, and features. Cambridge International AS & A Level English Language (9093) Syllabus: Paper 2 Drama, Poetry & Prose is a comprehensive study of the three literary genres. The paper is designed to develop a student’s critical thinking skills and ability to interpret and analyze literary works. In this paper, students will be assessed on their understanding of the themes, characterization, and plot development in a variety of dramatic, poetic, and prose works. They will also be expected to show their ability to analyze the language and style used within these texts.
