Linguistics is a formal subject of language studies. It deals with language scientifically. We, humans, are the sole creature on this planet 🌍 blessed with the natural capability of language. We don’t acquire language by our genes. Rather we learn it after our birth from our surroundings.

Language studies, nowadays, is a famous subject among modern subjects. All the universities globally teach it independently in their respective departments of English Language and Literature. Because language is a subject that has its separate identity and independent branches. We can take a brief overview of all of them.

There are multiple branches of it at the macro and micro levels. For example, Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Semantics, and Pragmatics are the micro branches of linguistics. Similarly, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Computational and, Neurolinguistics, are macro branches.
